IT at LPENS

Opening an account

Requests to open an IT account (email …) should be requested in priority to the HR manager of your axis.

Mail

Your email account must have been created when you arrived in the laboratory. Otherwise go to the HR department, room L059. The connection details (servers, ports, etc) to configure your mailer are described here.

Wifi network

Login details are available at http://wifi.phys.ens.fr/

Wired network

Any machine connected to the network must be declared.

Eduroam

If you have an ENS badge, an address “ens.fr” and a password on the ENS intranet, you can have access to the “Eduroam” network, which can be used on many academic sites. The Eduroam service of the ENS is managed by the computer resource center (CRI) of the ENS, which you can contact at cri“at “ens.fr .
How to install and configure Eduroam on your machines is described in this brochure: Wifi-Eduroam_Quickstart (fr).

Mailing Lists

Mailing lists have been created, for all, by axis (for permaments or for all members of these axes), by status:
– Mailing lists by axis;
– Mailing lists for permanents by axis;
– Mailing lists for doctoral and post-doctoral students by axis;
– Mailing list by status;
– List all LPENS.

Printers/Photocopiers/Scanners

You can connect to different common LPENS printers:
– Dc5 (HP Laser jet, black and white, IP address: 129.199.122.18), at the entrance of room E249, on the second floor of the Erasme building.
– Dc8 (HP Laser jet, colour, IP address: 129.199.122.16), in room E239, on the second floor of the Erasmus building.
– (HP Laser jet, colour, IP address: 129.199.121.116), in room E227 on the second floor of the Erasmus building.
– In room L059, on the ground floor of the Lhomond building (you have to ask for a code from those present).
A set of printers pooled, and distributed throughout the LPENS, is being installed . [To be completed…]

Clouds

You can create cloud accounts:
For the CNRS, this service is provided by MyPeopleDoc … [To be completed]
For the department, Nextcloud… [To be completed]

Videoconferencing

A videoconferencing system is installed in room LE115. Its mode of operation is described here.
